            The Society for Human Ethics and Moral-consciousness, INC., or S.H.E.M. is a Non-Profit  Organization that was founded to fight the trend of demoralization prevelant in Western Society today. Founded in November of 1999, the Society has been actively involved in many avenues. Our primary goal is to demonstrate the common thread of today's cultures and religions, and encourage a return to the values underlying all civilization.

Shem, the organization's namesake, was according to ancient legend the founder of the first school of learning. One of the three children of Noah, he saw firsthand the fruits of immorality and desired to educate society on the basic principles of coexistence. We at S.H.E.M. have endeavered to pick up where he left off.

S.H.E.M. is not a religious organization. We are a group of people, who through education and cooperation, hope to do our part to make the world a safer place to live. Our children grow up today in a society that is far more complicated than that of 20 years ago. Between violence, sexuality, drugs, and the like, the decisions that our children face are more difficult than what most adults face today. As the future of our race, these decisions affect not only themselves, but the collective human race. We are all bound together by a common thread. The decision that one person makes will inevitably affect someone else. That is why we must all strive together to give our future another option. This is the purpose of S.H.E.M.
